Once again, I was completely blown away by another magical wedding that took place in Phuket, Thailand. The sweetest couple, Suki and Sing, married at Villa Aye; a luxury retreat set along the cliffside overlooking the vast blue sea and surrounded by lush tropical greenery.
The morning began with a Chinese tea ceremony– a tradition that holds an utmost significance and emerged over 1200 years ago where the bride and groom are formally introduced and show respect to their families. Suki and Sing both knelt at the feet of their families, serving them tea and receiving newlywed gifts from each of their loved ones. It was so incredible being able to capture and witness another cultural tradition that differs from my own.
After the tea ceremony, everyone retreated to their rooms to begin prepping for the ceremony. Meanwhile I photographed the beautiful details that made the couples day so unique; dusty rose and golden floral arrangements by I Am Flower, the ceremony arch adorned with flowers and placed at the edge of the platform set above the villa pool, thrilled guests arriving and grabbing refreshing mojitos to cool down from the blazing sun. The Wedding Boutique Phuket team outdid themselves once again, conceptualizing and then creating a truly gorgeous wedding day!
